Youth at Risk:

In 1999 we worked with approximately 704 high-risk youth teaching them conflict and anger management skills in a variety of settings. The Conflict Center offers a series 4-week classes as well as collaborative work with many different non-profit groups, detention centers and alternative high schools. We also offer facilitations and mediations for teens with parents, teachers and others.

Schools:

From pre-school through university, The Conflict Center offers holistic conflict and anger management programs as well as parent education from one hour to year-long curriculum based programs for elementary and secondary schools.

Some of The Conflict Center’s services include:

• Faculty inservices in adult interpersonal conflict and anger management
• Classroom management sessions, model classes
• Training of Playground Conflict Managers or Peer Mediators
• Facilitation’s for teams, parent-teacher conferences, CDM’s
• Administrative consultations, coaching and conflict management
• Violence Prevention Programs

Parenting

Do you want to be a more positive, effective parent or better at dealing with children through your work? Children create a tremendous challenge for adults. Effective strategies for today’s adult / child relationships can make parenting a lot more fun. The Conflict Center offers Parenting Workshops to deal with the stresses in today’s family.

Parents, teachers, grandparents, healthcare workers, counselors, foster parents, day care providers and anyone who relates to children will benefit by participating in one of our parenting classes.

Business and Organizations:

The Conflict Center trains very diverse groups in conflict and anger management. We facilitate, negotiate and mediate groups in conflict whether it is a family, a neighborhood, a congregation, a business or a neighborhood organization. In addition to this we also offer staff development programs for corporations.

Both skill building workshops and the applied alternative dispute resolution skills are growing as people become aware that there are peaceful ways to resolve differences. In 2003 The Conflict Center trained 3,325 individuals in over 115 organizations.
