LIBRARY ASSISTANT

Our library is in a very exciting stage of its development. For the first time in 18 years, our patrons can access our resources from the web and perform on-line searches of our special collection of books, educational curriculum, and audio-visual materials.

In addition our library committee can assist in maintaining the library through an online database.

Purpose:

Assist with coordinating and maintaining our special collection library
Activities:
  •  Help enter newly acquired books into the electronic database
  •  Help check-in returned books, etc.
  •   Help maintain our library by organizing and maintaining resource materials
  •  Make suggestions of materials to add to our library
  •  Help find creative ways to retrieve our lost or missing books & items
  •  Help mail out overdue notices to patrons
  •  Oversee and participate in an annual inventory check
  •  Oversee the Library Committee

Qualifications:

A basic understanding of library systems is very helpful. A willingness to become familiar with basic conflict and anger management concepts and TCC’s library resources. Good organizational skills, patience and be very dependable. Good computer literacy skills.

Time Frame:

Can vary, two hours per week on average.
