Planned Giving
Choosing to make a charitable gift through planned giving is another way to support The Conflict Center and ensure the future of our peacemaking mission.

Here are several creative ways to give through planned giving:

• Bequest: Gifts through a will or trust are the most common way individuals provide for their favorite charities in their estate plan. You may choose to make an outright bequest to The Conflict Center by leaving a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of your estate. You may also leave the residue or part of the residue of an estate to charity.
• Life Insurance: You may use a life insurance policy as an avenue to make a gift by naming The Conflict Center as the beneficiary of the policy.
• Retirement Fund: you may designate The Conflict Center to be the beneficiary of all or a portion of your retirement account.
Be sure to consult with your personal financial advisor when considering these giving options.

Seeds of Peace Endowment Fund
In 2004, The Conflict Center established the Seeds of Peace Endowment Fund as part of the Lutheran Medical Center (LMC) Community Foundation’s Endowment Challenge. For every dollar contributed to this fund between July 1, 2004 and July 29, 2005, the LMC Community Foundation provided a dollar for dollar match, enabling TCC to establish the fund at the level of $70,000 in the first year. On an ongoing basis, the LMC Community Foundation manages the fund and advises and supports TCC in these efforts. LMC Community Foundation has been active in the community since 1975 and has assets of over $45 million. Investments are monitored and overseen by an internal investment infrastructure and managed by the Wells Fargo Investment Group.

The Conflict Center wants to be as prepared as possible to respond to the needs of families, schools, organizations and communities today and in the future. A strong endowment fund will create a new revenue stream to help offset the increased demands for services and help ensure the future of the organization. An Endowment Fund creates a new giving mechanism for donors who have a special interest in a long term investment strategy and supports new programs, innovative solutions and new partnerships for peacemaking. We invite you to make a gift to the Seeds of Peace Endowment Fund and receive recognition on our Seeds of Peace Endowment Fund Tree which displayed prominently at The Conflict Center.
