Legislative Impact
While The Conflict Center attempts to stay neutral and supportive in a diverse culture, the legislation we’ll be voting on in November could potentially harm non-profit funding. The Board of Directors is urging the defeat of Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101. We would appreciate your vote of conscience.
Over the last 23 years, TCC has provided violence prevention skills to over 100,000 individuals in the Denver Metro area. Many of those individuals were in school settings. These bills threaten to cut funding for schools, which will impact the services and education we provide.
We urge the defeat of these measures, which could potentially reduce funding for our work in schools, with low-income populations and with at-risk youth.
Please read the article No to Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 for more information.

- 1. No to Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101
By Ron Ludwig
The Conflict Center’s Board of Directors is urging the defeat of all three measures. This legislation will negatively impact funding coming into many nonprofits including The Conflict Center, and will most likely eliminate funding in the area of social and emotional educational services, such as the classes taught in schools and communities by The Conflict Center. More importantly, the Board recognizes that these measures will have a disproportionately negative impact on the low income populations we serve.
