Youth at Risk Program Assistant

Purpose:

Give personal attention to small groups and/or individual youth, ages 12 -18, who are at risk of becoming involved in violence. Be a role model and assist them in getting involved in community service activities.

Activities:

  • Attend and assist with Youth at Risk classes and activities
  • Help develop community service and volunteer activities
  • Supervise youth in community service and volunteer activities
  • Assist in recruiting and involving parents in these activities

Qualifications:

  • This volunteer must have an interest in working with youth, ages 12 - 18, who are at high risk of becoming involved in violence.
  • Must be willing to become familiar with basic conflict and anger management concepts and The Conflict Center’s (TCC) library resources.
  • Must have good organizational skills, patience and be very dependable.

Time Frame:

Varies, possibly two hours per week.

Site:

The Conflict Center and other community based sites.

Supervision:

TCC Staff
