We have had a wonderful year reading so far. We’ve been in 5 different elementary schools around the metro area—Edgewater, St. Rose, Russell, Foster, and Harrington. We will finish up the school year with Oakland and Fallis in east Denver. We have faithful readers who come every week. We have readers who are rapid emergency responders—they come on short notice when we have large classrooms and we need 8-10 readers or they fill in when regular readers are unable to attend. We are getting better at carpooling from area neighborhoods or The Conflict Center.

We have received pictures, notes and cards from the school children we read to. And there are happy welcomes when the kids see us in the hallways. Recently there was a training for 3 new readers. Even though we are coming to the end of the school year, there is always a need for new readers.
