Governor William Ritter, Jr. of Colorado has declared October 16th as Conflict Resolution Day! Conflict Resolution Day is celebrated internationally on the third Thursday of every October. This day was created by the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) in 2005 and it has been celebrated ever since. This day is dedicated to promote peace in conflict resolution and honor those who work towards this goal.

Many events in the form of talks, demonstrations and dinners occur during the day, or week, to celebrate Conflict Resolution Day. These events take place in various countries. Countries participating in Conflict Resolution Day this year are Canada, France, Israel and Portugal.
