What is your favorite book of all time? 

Impossible for me to answer this question.  I would choose different books throughout the various phases of my life and the challenges I was facing.

 

What are your hobbies?

Gardening, hiking, yoga and travel

 

What are your secret talents?

I really don’t have any secret talents but I have a passion for the wilderness and have climbed over 17 of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks ( some more than once)

 

Which television character do you feel resembles you most?  

I watch very little TV so I don’t relate to a character; however I admire the news reporting on “Democracy Now” by Amy Goodman.

 

What is your taste in music?

Varied – classical, rock and oldies

 

What is your favorite genre of movies? (Comedy/ Romance/Suspense/Action/Horror)

What is your favorite color?

 Green.

 

What was the best vacation you’ve ever had?

A family trip to Australia which included Sydney, the rain forest (eastern coast) and the Great Barrier Reef.

 

If you could have a luncheon with any three people (real or fictitious, from any time period, dead or alive), which three people would you choose and why?

1) Eleanor Roosevelt – I admire her energy, compassion and commitment to issues concerning women and children

2) Gandhi – I value and try to live by his principles of nonviolence:

3) Gilda Radner – one of my favorite comedians – she never failed to make me laugh.  Here’s some words of wisdom she shared about life.    “I wanted a perfect ending.  Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end.  Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it without knowing what’s going to happen next”

 

What is your most cherished childhood memory?

Visits, dinners and holidays with extended family…playing with my cousins on the farm.

Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?

I read a ton of Nancy Drew books so I wanted to work for the FBI.

 

What makes your angry? How do you overcome your anger?

Violence,  injustice and inequality make me angry.  I work with my anger through meditation and yoga.  I also try to cultivate gratitude, compassion and forgiveness.

 

If given a choice, which animal would you want to be? Why? 

I would be my dog, Abbey.  She’s lovable, happy and her life is uncomplicated.

 

What is your favorite place on Earth?

An isolated beach in Maui 

 

What is your favorite quote?

Hard to choose  just one but I like Mother Theresa:  “We are not asked to do great things; only small things with great love”.
