100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

 

What are your hobbies?

I don’t consider to have any hobbies but you could say that I enjoy lots of things in life like guitar playing, singing, dancing, diving, skiing, taking pictures, and being with good friends

 

Which television character do you feel resembles you most?

Pepe Biondi in almost all his characters He is a comedian from Argentinean television. You can check him out in youtube.

 

What is your taste in music?

Eclectic. From Argentinean Tango to Brazilian Samba. From classical music to rock and roll; world music and Jazz.

 

What is your favorite genre of movies?

I love films. I enjoy all kinds of genres. If the spirit of the genre is honored and it is done with intelligence and good taste, I am in.

 

What is your favorite color?

Turquoise

 

What was the best vacation you’ve ever had?

Diving with Manta Rays in the Big Island of Hawaii.

 

If you could have a luncheon with any three people (real or fictitious, from any time period, dead or alive), which three people would you choose and why?

Albert Einstein, Gandhi, and Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. The reason for Einstein and Gandhi are pretty obvious. Sarmiento was an intellectual, writer, educator, and the 7th president of Argentina. We consider him as “The Teacher” of Latin America. I still remember the songs we used to sing in his memory. I have lots of questions for him. He greatly influenced 19th century Argentina and shaped Argentina for years to come.

 

What is your most cherished childhood memory?

Vacations in Necochea (beautiful beaches 320 miles south of Buenos Aires) with my family.

 

If given complete freedom to start a fresh, what profession would you choose and why?

I would continue working with education.

 

Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?

I wanted to be a “peon de campo”, a gaucho, the South American equivalent to Cowboy, although there are many profound differences.

Injustice makes me very angry. I breathe deeply and I center myself.

 

If given a choice, which animal would you want to be? Why?

A bottlenose dolphin. They are gregarious, fast, curious, and they seem to have a lot of fun in the beautiful ocean.

 

What is your favorite place on Earth?

Anyplace where I have good friends and a strong community. If you add access to pristine nature the better.

 

What is your favorite quote?

If you could visit a time in history what would that be?

 The American continent before it was “discovered” by Europeans.
