Whatever you celebrate we celebrate with you!

The holidays are approaching and it is a great time to reflect on the many meanings associated with this time of year.  At The Conflict Center we believe in multiculturalism, diversity and inclusiveness and it is very important that all those associated with us feel welcome independently of their race, religion or origin.

This is our last quarterly issue of the year, which on this occasion is focused entirely on the upcoming holidays.  You are going to find articles written by our experts with advice in different activities you can do for these festivities.

So whatever you celebrate, Kwanzaa, Chanukah, Christmas, Winter Solstice or Ramadan; have a happy holiday season and a peaceful and prosperous new year!

WREATH

Did you know that wreaths are normally made from evergreens which symbolize strength of life? This plant can withstand the hardest winters. Wreaths can also be made from other plants symbolizing immortality, strength and healing. Wreaths are often associated with the Greek god Apollo who was the god of life and health. The Greeks utilized wreaths as crowns symbolizing victory. A laurel wreath was used to crown the winner of Olympic competitions. In Rome wreaths were worn on the heads of military and government officials. The round shape of wreaths symbolize eternity or immortality and the use of them as a decoration on your front door is a sign of welcome and long life to all who enter.
