Classroom Management for the K-8 Teacher

This training is designed to provide teachers with thorough and practical understanding of the principles of restorative justice and restorative discipline. Teachers will gain the tools and skills necessary to manage classroom conflict in respectful, restorative and non-punitive ways. This course consists of 8 hours training plus 2 hours application of time. 

 

The Workshop Offers Teachers the Opportunity to:

· Explore restorative justice and restorative
discipline principles

· Understand the difference between Retributive
vs. Restorative discipline

· Lear how to establish a culture of accountability amongst youth

· Gain insight into power struggles and authority

· Practice facilitation of RJ circles

· Receive a book on  restorative discipline

· Take this course in one day. 8 hours at TCC plus 2 hours application on your time

· 1CEU credit available after the workshop completion.

PROGRAMS FOR

This class is designed to provide teachers with the skills and tools necessary to manage classroom conflict in productive and creative ways. Designed for elementary and middle school teachers, this class will introduce you to TCC's social-emotional curriculum and adult interpersonal skills which teach participants to view and manage conflict and anger in healthy positive ways. Teachers will participate in experiential activities that will enhance their classroom management. Teachers will receive a copy of TCC's social-emotional curriculum with a year's worth of lesson plans. This 8 hour class plus 2 hours of application time carries 1 CEU for teachers.

 

The Workshop Offers:

· Learn concrete hands on strategies to deal with misbehavior.

· Practice cooperative learning activities.

· Report back on challenges faced and skills applied in your classroom and receive personalized feedback from TCC's facilitators.

· Receive TCC's social-emotional curriculum with a year's worth of lesson plans to help you enhance social emotional learning in your class.

· Have the flexibility to take this course outside school hours and avoid the inconvenience of being absent from  your classroom.

· 1CEU credit available after the workshop completion.
