PROGRAMS FOR  Organizational Effectiveness

Conflict management for organizations or businesses

Providing effective staff development and creating productive workplace cultures

Most people spend the majority of their waking hours at work, yet typically invest little time in establishing effective working and interpersonal relationships. As a result, employees go home exhausted rather than feeling satisfied with their contribution in the workplace.

Conflict can build up over time when individuals don’t know what the mission or values of the organization are, don’t know what is expected of them, don’t know how to ask for what they need, don’t know how to give or receive feedback, or don’t know how to problem solve. Without these skills individuals are left with only their perceptions of what they think is going on. This can easily lead to conflict in the workplace.

The costs of conflict in a workplace are astronomical. Morale is affected, work quantity and quality are reduced, miscommunication occurs, and verbal, emotional, and physical resentment and hostility can result.

Conflict in the workplace can be dealt with effectively in a number of ways.

By empowering employees with skills to prevent or manage conflict and by empowering them to solve problems in a communicative, nonthreatening manner, the culture of the workplace can change dramatically. Supervisors will spend less time managing conflicts, and employees will solve problems and build better relationships with co-workers.

Effectively Managing Conflict in the Workplace

  • Do you work with challenging people where
    destructive conflict arises regularly?
  • Do you work in teams where productivity and cohesiveness are reduced by conflict?
  • Do you want to learn to be a more effective manager and leader?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions this workshop is for you!

Since conflict is inevitable, how do we prepare ourselves today with the tools as leaders and employees for the interpersonal problems of tomorrow? With this workshop participants will gain the skills necessary to understand differing perspectives, strong emotions, and how to listen and speak for maximum effectiveness. Not only do these skills enhance the participant’s ability to problem solve and negotiate amongst co-workers and clients but they also help develop better relationships and stronger teams to work together more effectively and ultimately be more productive.

Intergenerational Conflict

  • Do you work with people from other generations
    that just drive you crazy?
  • Is generational conflict decreasing productivity and cohesiveness in your team?
  • Want to have some fun?

If the answer is “yes” to any of these questions this workshop is for you!

So, you’ve heard it everywhere: this is one of the first times in history where potentially four different generations are working together. Not a big deal except that each generation brings their varying values, beliefs, and goals to the workplace creating conflict if your leadership and staff are not aware of these generational differences. Looking at our generational differences reveals interesting dynamics of power, working styles, and worldviews that play out when the new younger boss is hired, the longest employed worker won’t change their ways, or the teenager just asked for six weeks off during the summer. Get answers to questions like: What do Baby Boomers covet that younger generations could care less about? What are Generation X’ers craving that could help you retain them? What’s the Millennial’s #1 workplace concern? And what are all the generations wanting more of . . . and, no, the answer isn’t money! Get answers to these questions and more!

Effectively Managing Conflict in Faith Communities
(by request)

  • Does the faith community you are involved in avoid conflict instead of addressing it assertively and productively?
  • Is conflict undermining your faith community’s effectiveness?
  • Want a faith community that really walks the talk when it comes to its teachings?

The challenges of growing a healthy congregation grows exponentially when faith communities do not have the communication training to help diffuse interpersonal conflicts. Effective leadership and conflict management training must be a necessary component for any faith based community looking to promote open and honest communication. Unfortunately, however, many congregations choose to pretend conflict does not exist, which only undermines their attempt to create a life-giving and welcoming community for its members. Healthy relationships and healthy communities flourish and grow because people know how to deal with conflict. Our goal is to help your congregation gain the tools necessary to create a common language and strategy, rooted in your own faith tradition, to deal with conflict amongst staff and members.
